Wishcasting Wednesday: How Do You Wish To Spend Some Time?

Every Wednesday, the incredibly talented Jamie Ridler, of Jamie Ridler Studios, posts a Wishcasting prompt.

Each week I read it, and find myself wishing I had the time, and a special place to answer her prompt.

Well, now I’ve made a place, a beautiful page on my blog, to cradle my wishes and dreams.

I’m guessing that some weeks I’ll answer her prompt, and some weeks I still won’t get to it.  On the days when I do make time to honor my wishes and dreams, they’ll be here, on the Wishcasting Wednesday page of my blog.

So here’s to my Wishcast for August 25, 2010 ~

Wishcasting Wednesday: How Do You Wish To Spend Some Time?

It doesn’t really seem to matter whether I plan my day very carefully, or whether I leave the hours to float into into their own gentle arrangement, the outcome is often the same. The hours fly by and the days pass much too quickly.

This week I have two wishes for spending my time.

First, and most importantly, I wish to have time to spend with the people I most cherish. After our recent family vacation, I am missing my family. We had a wonderful time together, and then had to say goodbye at the airport. For me that was like having just a small bowl of chocolate ice cream. Having a little makes me want more!

During our vacation my son was in summer school, and working, so he couldn’t come with us. I wish, above all, to have time to spend with him. He is an amazing young man, and has just begun his last semester at Virginia Tech. I wish for relaxed time, hiking, talking, or watching a movie. It really doesn’t matter … just time together.

My second wish is to have time to write. When I wake up in the morning, when I am sitting in traffic, when I am in the shower, when I’m standing in line at the coffee shop ~ I compose posts in my head. I do my best to hold onto the awakening that begs to be written, to an inspired moment, before it slips away.

Still there are times when the image is gone, just as a photographer misses capturing an amazing shot by a fraction of a second. Like any craft, it takes time for the words to flow, at their own rate, from my fingers onto the keyboard.

Well, the life of a writer … wishing for time with my son, and for time to write about this amazing journey.

Thanks for stopping in. I’m so glad you’re here ~
