Wishcasting Wednesday: What Does the Soft Animal of Your Body Wish For?

Last updated on 11/30/2010

Every Wednesday, the incredibly talented Jamie Ridler, of Jamie Ridler Studios, posts a Wishcasting prompt.

I’ve made a place, a beautiful page on my blog, to cradle my wishes and dreams.

I’m guessing that some weeks I’ll answer her prompt, and some weeks I may not get to it.  On the days when I do make time to honor my wishes and dreams, they’ll be here, on the Wishcasting Wednesday page of my blog.

So here’s to my Wishcast for October 20, 2010 ~

Wishcasting Wednesday: What Does the Soft Animal of Your Body Wish For?

Before I dive into my wish, I hope you’ll follow this link and read Jamie’s post on “the soft animal movement”.  It’s about honoring those inner desires, those little wishes that many of us have a tendency to push below the surface.  “Allow yourself to love what you love and invite it in.”

The soft animal of my body craves sweetness.

I wish for thick hot chocolate made from raw goat’s milk and real Godiva chocolate.  I wish for the quiet morning streets of Paris and for a pack of pink fairy stickers, embedded with tiny sparkles.    I wish for a pantry, filled with clean, white, French cookwear … organized and ready to receive Spanish tapas, or juicy red tomatoes with olive oil, mozarella, and basil.

At Duke Integrated Medicine there is a quiet room with a shimmering waterwall.  Sunlight sparkles into the room from the glass ceiling, filtered by the bamboo trees overhead.  Among the bamboos are smooth grey stones that meander along the length of the room, creating the illusion of a peaceful, lazy stream.  I lay on the soft lounge chair in my bathrobe, drinking fresh water as I take a break from the sauna or wait to snuggle into the warm massage table.   At this magical place, my pain is relieved.  My heart and spirit are honored and nourished … and I didn’t even notice the soft animal of my body, curled up contentedly, there in the folds of my robe.

    • I agree … each time I visit another wishcast I leave with new ideas for creativity and self-care. Visiting the wishes of others is the absolute best thing I can do for myself … one of those amazing things that we can’t keep unless we give it away!

Thank you for the wishes Jamie,
      Hugs,
      Jane

    • Hi Lynna,
Thanks so much for visiting me at teenytinypieces. I’m glad you enjoy the details. I don’t know whether magic surrounds me, but love and abundance sure do. I’m so grateful for the many gifts … of friendship, and of lovely ladies like you who’ve come into my circle.
Take good care, and thank you for the wishes,

    • Hi Tabitha … tonight I’m wandering around teeny tiny pieces, and for some reason decided to check the messages that had been marked as spam … and there you were! So sorry!

Yes, I love goats milk and chocolate! Great for the mind and the tummy! 🙂

Have a great week, and thank you for the wish!
      Take good care,
      ~ Jane

  4. This was wonderful to read Jane as I have been reading much on teen aged girls and their challenges today. My heart is lightened as I read your list and remember the importance of having a space and the ability to find what it is that we need to care for ourselves.
I wish for you all that you wish for yourself too.

    • Hello Exceptional One …

Thanks so very much for visiting. I hopped over to your “Play” post, and found myself dancing in my chair as I read. How delightful!! Thanks so much for the fun reminder to play, jump, sing …

Wouldn’t a home for teenage Wishcasting be a wonderful thing … a place for them to write, uninhibited, and find the unconditional love and open-ness that I always find on these pages. Self-care … the sooner we learn it, the better off we’ll be.

I’ve only recently discovered Rob White, and am doing my best to follow the guidelines he gave me recently …
      1. Allow the light to break through
      2. Lay down the busy-ness
      3. Be willing to live new insights, even if they contrast old beliefs

Take good care, and I hope to see you in the circle again soon!

  5. Jane, these are beautiful wishes. Especially the tomatoes with olive oil, mozzarella and basil. One of my favorite summer dishes.
As Jane wishes for herself, so I wish for her as well.

    • One of my favorites, as well! I breathe a sigh of relief each week when I go to the market, and round the corner to see that my favorite organic tomato farmer has plucked a few more tomatoes from the vines during these last weeks of the growing season.
Thanks so much for the wishes! I enjoyed visiting your blog tonight! Lovely!
      Take good care,
      Jane
