Wishcasting Wednesday: What Do You Wish For Your Health?

Every Wednesday, the incredibly talented Jamie Ridler, of Jamie Ridler Studios, posts a Wishcasting prompt.

I’ve made a place, a beautiful page on my blog, to cradle my wishes and dreams.

Some weeks I answer her prompt, and some weeks I don’t quite get to it.  On the days when I do make time to honor my wishes and dreams, they’ll be here, on the Wishcasting Wednesday page of my blog.

So here’s to my Wishcast for May 25, 2011 ~

Wishcasting Wednesday: What Do You Wish For Your Health?

I’ve found that when I hope to make a change in my well-being, it’s helpful to find a picture, a visual reminder of my goal … of “what I want to be”.  So, I went back to a previous post and pulled this pic of a beautiful, healthy woman, in the sunshine … her body is strong, limber, and serene.   Her mind is clear … she is at the same time, both free and strongly connected.

When we slip into inadequate self-care, our nutrition suffers.  It’s important to rebuild our nutritional foundation when we make the commitment to improve our habits, and live a healthier life.  So, I stocked up on some supplements this weekend, bought free-range chicken and tons of organic veggies.

My husband and I have been going for short walks in the evenings, and we each noticed that the hill in our neighborhood was a bit easier last night … yay for us!

When my mind is clear, and my body is limber and energized, I know that I’m taking proper care of myself.

So, what do you wish for your health?

Leave a comment below…who knows, you may feel inspired to start your own Wishcasting page.

Thanks for stopping by today. I’m really glad you’re here.

  1. Great for you both…. the hill will get easier and easier. As Jane wishes for herself, so I wish for her also.

  2. Jane, I just got a book from the library about eating healthier, and I have started walking again. I can’t find a hill to walk, so I may have to try the bleachers at the high school football stadium. That’s not as nice as climbing a lovely hill, however 🙁

I like your idea of posting a picture of “what you want to be.” I have done that with some of my wishes, but for some reason it did not occur to me to do it with this one. Hmmm…I wonder why?

As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you also.

    • Hi Camilla,
After moving from the mountains of Virginia, to Raleigh, where it’s pretty flat, I soon realized that my torso was getting very weak because I never climbed stairs and never walked hills. It’s important to keep those muscles fit … maybe find a set of stairs … you could make wishes each time you climb up and down. 🙂

After posting this yesterday, I decided to put the picture also on the screen of my phone. This way, whenever I’m tempted to eat, or skip a walk, etc … she’s sitting there like a little angel reminding me to make good choices.

Find a picture that makes you happy 🙂

I wish for myself easy running the last few weeks of training for my 1/2 marathon. So far it’s been great. All the hard work has paid off!

I love the way that hill has become easier. One bite at a time, eh?

    • Sarah, That’s wonderful! When I lived in Virginia I walked every day, unless there was ice on the ground 🙂 It was so healing and made me so strong … can’t wait to feel that way again. Taking steps in the right direction is good for me today.
Take good care dear ~ (ps, I’d love to live a walking life … enjoy the goodness of it, even if it isn’t always easy)

I think that you realized the hill got a bit easier is a good sign!

  13. Smart question Jamie – my answer is consitency which I know I have to play a major part in. Health reflects life and emotions so having consistently good vitality is a more sure sign that balance has been achieved in matters from diet to stress levels. I am the source but healthiness is the result. When I’m positively consistent my body will be too. Be well, be swell, and have fun. After all, you’re only young always!!!

    • Hi John ~ that’s a great observation. Though I am happy with my journey, I’m not always consistent … sometimes it doesn’t even seem possible. Heightened awareness of positive balance will make it so … reminds me of Tess’s post from today 🙂

  14. Lovely wish! I created a vision board as I too like to have a visual. Beautiful picture!

As you wish for yourself, I truly wish for you as well.

  15. I wish for the HABIT of good health. I wish for the HABIT of daily exercise. I wish for the HABIT of eating well. I love to exercise, to eat right. But, sometimes I slip and get out of the habit. My sister and brother-in-law ask each other every morning “what are you doing for exercise today?” That’s what I wish for – that commitment to the HABIT of exercise.

Thanks for this great post! I really enjoyed it and feel rather energized again.

    • Well, I’ve heard that if we do what we wish to make a habit each day for 30 days, we will establish a habit. Guess the first 30 days might be the hardest. Maybe we should ask ourselves each morning, “What am I going to do for exercise today?” … intention is a powerful tool ~
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Take good care, and have a wonderful weekend!
