Wishcasting Wednesday: What Do You Wish To Become?

Every Wednesday, the incredibly talented Jamie Ridler, of Jamie Ridler Studios, posts a Wishcasting prompt.

I’ve made a place, a beautiful page on my blog, to cradle my wishes and dreams.

Some weeks I answer her prompt, and some weeks I don’t quite get to it. On the days when I do make time to honor my wishes and dreams, they’ll be here, on the Wishcasting Wednesday page of my blog.

So here’s to my Wishcast for July 4, 2012 ~

Wishcasting Wednesday: What Do You Wish To Become?

I wish to become that which I have not even yet imagined.  I wish to become the best of each beautiful soul who has given me some bit of their experience, their life, their spirit.

I wish to become a source of light, of healing, of creativity and information, of unconditional love for any who seek.  I wish to become a woman of strength and integrity.

I wish to honor and acknowledge the times that my journey has diverged from what I thought it should be … only to find out that I am, today, right where I am supposed to be.

I wish to become a source ~

I’ve looked to many people in my life.  When I was a little girl I learned as I watched Lena making soap in her old kitchen, and my mom tending her herbs, and singing at the kitchen window ~ both artists ~ a charmed life I’ve lived.

As an adult, the intensity of my experiences heightens.  The more willing I am to seek, to listen, and to see, the more becomes available for me.

When I make the choice to step into an unfamiliar studio and say hello … when I make the choice to send an email to someone I admire, but have never met, just to let them know how deeply their work moves me … more becomes available.

I am super-excited that in just TWO DAYS!! (okay, exclamation points don’t go in the middle of a sentence, but I’m an artist, so who cares?) … in just two days, the first of my “First Fridays Artist Interviews” will be featured here on teenytinypieces!

On the first Friday of June, I was in Asheville, at a workshop with Elizabeth St. Hilaire Nelson.  Can I just say, Elizabeth gets things done!  She has inspired me from the moment I first laid eyes on her collages, and every time I talk to her, or we exchange emails, I want, more and more, to live the biggest, most creative life I can imagine!

She helps me remember what I want to become.

Since First Fridays has become synonymous with art walks, music, and lots of other creative goodness, I decided to begin a First Fridays interview series, sharing some of my favorite creative and inspirational people.

So … if you generally just check in for Wishcasting Wednesday, you might want to subscribe via email or rss, or follow me on facebook, so that you’ll be sure to see each of the upcoming artist interviews.  I’ve selected artists from a variety of backgrounds who have inspired me … and changed my life in so many ways.

Elizabeth will be the first featured artist … this Friday, July 6!

Here’s a taste of the talent, energy, and passion Elizabeth brings to everything she does.

I’ll wait a second … for the chills, and maybe the heart shifting tears to subside.

I know … she kicks it ~  right?

I’ll see you here on Friday.  In the interview, she shares her motivations, her fears, and what she has to say to new and emerging artists.

Sending warmest wishes for all that you wish to become ~ and so much more!
With warmest Wishcasting love,

    • Aaah, another Asheville lover ~ it’s one of my favorite places in the whole world, and being there with Elizabeth during the day, and out exploring downtown and the parkway at night was just the best! (… and I got to stay with some dear friends while I was there!)

  7. Jane, your wishes are amazing, what a wonderful person you are and a beacon of light and inspiration to others. I am HONORED and HUMBLED to be featured here as your first artist. Thank you.
    Elizabeth

    • Thank you, Elizabeth, for stopping by and leaving such kind words. One of the wonderful things about inspiration and light is that we all have plenty to share with one-another, and there is no limit. Just like the saying that when we use one candle to light many others, it doesn’t diminish the flame at all … there’s so much good in the world.

You’re the reason I began First Friday Artist Interviews, so of-course you’d be first! 🙂

      Biggest wishes to you!
      Jane

  8. This sentence had much wisdom: The more willing I am to seek, to listen, and to see, the more becomes available for me.

As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you.

    • Thank you for stopping by, Susie … and thank you for the wish 🙂 My journey is much about being willing to take small steps, and trust that all shall be well.
Hope to see you back here tomorrow ~
      With Warmest Wishcasting Love,
      Jane
