Do You Have What It Takes To Jump A Puddle?

Last night when I was out for a walk a young father and his little girl approached a not so big puddle.  I overheard him tell her to jump “over the puddle, not in it”.  Holding her daddy’s hand she stopped, and counted “1, 2, 3, Jump!” … and so she did, with happy success.

If her daddy had said step over, I’m guessing she wouldn’t have needed to count, as stepping over is not nearly as risky, nor as exciting.  But the jumping of a puddle … that requires some preparation.

When we have big things to do in life, we sometimes need to count.  We need to be sure we’re ready.  We need to be sure that the people who are holding our hands know when we’re going to take the leap and what to expect … after all, we’re counting on them to hold onto us as we jump our big puddles.

Remember, love, that even if you count, and even if all of your helpers are holding your hands, you could land right in the middle of the puddle … and remember, that would be okay.  Just squeal with delight, take a step, and keep on walking.

With biggest love and wishes for your happiest success ~

Ready? 1, 2, 3, Jump!
