Need To Reconnect? Try A Playful Love-Letter!

My blog is about teeny tiny pieces that make this life whole. Sometimes I simply write about bits that make life more tolerable.  Sometimes I write about the morsels that make life delicious. This post is a Godiva Dark Chocolate drop.

I’ll keep the intro short and sweet by saying that my husband has been working out of town most of the summer.  It hasn’t been easy, and there have been times when we’ve fallen, head-first, out of our comfort zones.  Getting back on track is sweet, though, and he’ll be back in Raleigh, full-time, very soon. We’ve done alot of driving to visit one-another, alot of texting, and alot of waiting for September.

Well, September is almost here, and a playful love-letter is an awesome pick-me-up, and a great way to reconnect after a busy week.  So, in honor of my husband’s birthday today, and of our upcoming 5th Anniversary, and in anticipation of his returning home for good, I’m sending him a love letter.  It’s fun with a little bit of intrigue, written as-if we were just getting to know each other, but not too sappy … it’s reader-friendly.

Maybe it has been a while since you’ve written a love letter, so I thought I’d share.  Of-course I’m hoping you’ll realize that there’s someone waiting for a love letter from you, and you’ll write one, too.

Dear SF,

Well, it has been quite an interesting few months, hasn’t it?  We’ve really learned alot about each other.  I think you’re a pretty amazing person, and I’m hoping we’ll be able to spend more time together soon.  I must say that the summer started out much like a fairy tale, but I’m growing a bit weary of the texting, and voicemailing, so I think it’s time for us to finally meet, face to face.

Let’s meet in the mountains tonight, just after sunset.  How about at 9:00 at the drum circle … I think you know the one I’m talking about.  I’ll be the one wearing a hippie skirt, and as long as nobody’s wearing combat boots, I’ll probably be barefooted, as well.  There’s nothing like the feel of drum vibrations coursing through the air and penetrating your skin, with everyone dancing, bumping, laughing, swaying under the moon.  Very sensual, very beautiful!

After we’re all danced out, maybe we’ll share some chocolate peanut butter ice cream, then wander off into the night to find a sweet little lemon-pie cottage somewhere and settle in for a day or two.

This may sound corny, but I really think I could spend the rest of my life with you.  We’ve dreamed of far-away places, and I believe we’ll make some amazing adventures together.

So, write back, and let me know whether you’ll meet me tonight at 9, and remember … don’t go to Paris without me, okay?

J

Well, of-course this letter is chock-full of little inside sentiments, but you get the idea.  I’m wishing I could see the smile on his face as he reads this.

Now then, you go ahead and think of someone you’d like to write a love letter to.  Really, I’ll wait …..

There now, go for it ~ and have fun!

As for me, I’ll be headed for the mountains this evening … to the drum circle, under the moon, at 9 pm.

…take good care!

Thanks to Brooke for the photo.
