May We Choose Love

Shimmer detail
Jane Barefoot Rochelle, Shimmer detail

Words have come and gone, and come and gone again … under the surface, desperately hoping to make their way into the light.

There is a lot to be said.  Fiery words tangle in our throats.

Our uncried tears puddle, and overflow, flooding the depths of our soul.

Anger, resentment, and bitterness seep out in sarcastic vitriol.

Our hearts harden against ones we love.

Our soul stiffens with dis-ease.  Just this once ~ and then again, and again.

Each waking moment we must choose love or fear … for they are all that exist.  We must choose expansion or stagnation, sunshine or absence, compassion or animosity.

This world will keep spinning, no matter how fiercely we beat our mighty chest.  The sun will rise on each soul tomorrow morning, no matter how desperately we attempt to hoard it all for ourselves.

So, dearest love, we have choices about how we walk through this life.  We have choices about how we speak, and touch, and move.  We have choices about how we think, and care, and console.  We have choices about what we will teach our children, and our neighbor, and our … enemy.

In our doing and being, in our actions and inactions … may we choose love.

Take special good care ~ of your heart and soul,

Love,
