Miss Universe Drinks a Skinny Vanilla Latte (with two Splenda)

“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”  Paulo Coelho

The Universe came for a visit today.  She didn’t know it.  She had no idea I’d even asked her to come … but there she was.  Skinny vanilla latte in-hand, settled comfortably on my sofa.

I’ve been doing some work around my intention to be what I call ‘spiritually present’.  It is a way of being that I’m defining for myself, in a way that resonates with my soul.  So, I am learning what it feels like.  What it is, and perhaps what it isn’t.

This morning, Miss. Universe kindly showed me how it works … by way of a text message.

You see Miss. Universe had a heartbreaking week, so she texted this morning and asked if she could come over.  She simply said “I just want to be near you”.

I just want to be near you.

Aside from being delighted to see my friend (whose name, by the way, really isn’t Miss. Universe, at all)  I instantly realized that THIS, this is spiritual presence.  This is, maybe the highest honor.

To just be near.  Should she want tea, or a nap, or some soup ~ yes, to provide those things.  But just to be near.  Spiritual presence.

I am grateful tonight, for the powers that hear my pleas.  For the powers that know my heart, my strengths and my perceived shortcomings.  For sending a perfect messenger to show me the way … to teach me the most essential meaning, the beautiful simplicity and the core of spiritual presence.

I am beyond grateful for precious friends and family, who allow me to practice spiritual presence … especially when they don’t even realize it.
You help me grow.  You help me be a better person.

Thank you, and I am honored.

Take special good care ~
Love,
