Today Is Bliss

Last updated on 11/02/2010

Today is bliss.

There’s really no other way to describe it.  I’ve worked and traveled more this summer than any summer I can remember.  It has been very productive, and very busy.

I haven’t been to the farmer’s market in weeks.

This morning I went … and was happy to see my favorite farmer there.  He’s 75, quiet and gentle, and he knows and embraces organic farming.  He farms his family land, organically, just as his father and grandfather did.

When I got home I had sweet peaches and cream, then carried my books and a blanket to the backyard.  I spent the afternoon in the shade of the tall pine trees.  The earth, and books, and a blanket.

I came back inside just long enough to throw some sliced tomatoes with Parmesan and basil into the oven … then carried them, casserole dish and all, back to my blanket, and my books.

Today is bliss.

How can you be so blissful when the big move is this weekend. Frank is coming back to Raleigh this week end — right? Any way glad you enjoyed the day.

    • That’s part of the bliss….I’ve done my chores, helped Frank get packed up in Hendersonville last weekend, so now it’s my time for bliss. Good food, good books, and sunshine! 🙂

  2. You do know how to live in your joy, lovely Jane. Thank you for sharing — nice meal ideas too. Yum.

    • Hi Katie,
I’ve found that living in my joy is much preferred to living in anxiety and worry … just takes some practice.
      Take good care 🙂
      Jane
